Physical therapy and its methods at I.D.Clinic
Many people know that physiotherapy is a set of procedures, but it is not always clear what exactly is included in this set. Sometimes it seems that a doctor will show me exercises once, and I will do them at home, but that is not the case.
Today, we will analyze the physiotherapy methods used by our doctors at the I.D.Clinic medical center.
Physical therapy, also known as physiotherapy, is a treatment method that uses physical forces and techniques to relieve pain, restore functions, and improve patients’ quality of life. A comprehensive approach in physical therapy includes the use of multiple methods and techniques that interact and complement each other to achieve the best results.
The comprehensive approach to physical therapy is based on the assumption that the best results are achieved not only through the application of a single method but through the combination of different approaches. Several key components of the comprehensive approach to physical therapy used at I.D.Clinic include:
Manual therapy – a method for treating musculoskeletal disorders. Manual therapy is not a massage but a hands-on treatment. A manual therapist acts comprehensively on the human body to restore the correct biomechanics of movements. The impact is not only on the musculoskeletal system (bones, muscles, joints, fascia, and ligaments) but also on most other organs of the body, such as internal organs, meninges, skin, and more.
Another important method is exercises and movement rehabilitation: individually designed exercises, considering the patient’s specific needs and treatment goals, help strengthen muscles, increase flexibility, and restore normal motor functions.
We also should not forget about restorative procedures using physiotherapy devices. At I.D.Clinic, we use physiotherapeutic ultrasound therapy (US therapy), electrical stimulation, and shock wave therapy, which can be applied to improve blood circulation, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain.
The comprehensive approach to physical therapy includes various methods for pain management: from thermotherapy and cryotherapy to massage and relaxation techniques.
And yet, we have to do some work at home! To prevent the recurrence of a problem or injury, the physiotherapist provides information on performing independent exercises. Throughout the physiotherapy process, the patient performs these exercises under the supervision of a doctor to ensure that self-exercise does not cause harm.
At I.D.Clinic, physical therapy is a systematic and individually tailored approach to patient treatment. Its goal is not only to eliminate symptoms but also to restore body functions, prevent recurrent problems, and improve the patient’s overall well-being. Importantly, each patient has unique needs, so a comprehensive approach allows the physiotherapist to select and combine the most effective methods to achieve optimal results.
The team of professionals at the I.D.Clinic medical center wishes you good health and warns that self-medication and treatment by non-medical professionals can be harmful to your health.
