Basic rules for Acne
Acne is an inflammatory disease of the skin, namely of the sebaceous gland. Due to excessive hyperproduction of skin sebum, the gland is blocked and the inflammatory process begins.
The main cause of acne is considered to be an increase in hormones (thyroid or female), but this is not the only cause. Among others are improper home care, or lack of it at all, excessive consumption of sweet, floury, spicy, fatty, dairy products, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, nervous exhaustion.
We would like to emphasize that acne treatment is prescribed directly by dermatologist and can adjust it during treatment.
After a thorough anamnesis and tests, external treatment can be started.
The first step in home care is always washing. Correct cleansing of the skin from excess sebum, impurities and cosmetics is the main stage for better penetration of the assets to be prescribed.
You need to wash twice a day with warm water. Detergents should not contain alcohols or oils that can only worsen the condition of the skin.
If you have foundation on your face, you need to wash it twice, because more often than not, one time is not enough. We would like to point out that for the period of treatment it is advisable to completely abandon tonal foundations or powders, or use them as needed, not every day.
You need to wipe/dry the skin after washing with disposable dry towels.
In the treatment of acne, cosmetics should contain active substances aimed at thorough cleansing, namely: benzoyl peroxide, azalaiic, mandelic and salicylic acids. Depending on the degree of acne, their concentration will change or be additionally administered with creams.
Those patients who are just starting treatment should understand that when acids are injected, the skin will start to stimulate new inflammations, this is a normal reaction of the skin, and the acids thus "tighten" inflammatory elements that sit deep.
Under no circumstances should scrubs be used for acne, as they injure the already sensitive skin and there is a possibility of spreading bacteria on the face due to microtraumatization of the skin.
Nowadays, we have a large selection of creams with active substances that are aimed at treating acne. But depending on the stage of acne, the assets will change.
Home care must include a moisturizing cream that contains substances that reduce sebum production, relieve inflammatory processes, and moisturize the skin.
Also, in home care, it is advisable to have masks for problem skin and use them 2-3 times a week. You need to keep the mask on for no more than 15-20 minutes so as not to provoke an allergic reaction
Also, when treating acne, you should always use SPF protection, because the inflammatory processes on the skin are very sensitive and hyperpigmentation can be added under the influence of sunlight.
All medical products should be bought in a pharmacy according to the recommendations of a dermatologist
Specialists of the medical center I.D.Clinic warn, that self-medication can be harmful and we wish you to have healthy and radiant facial skin.
